The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) hosted a delegation from the Zimbabwe Defence Force Staff College as part of the College’s international study tour aimed at promoting knowledge exchange on emerging national security issues. The delegation was accompanied by representatives of the Ghana Armed Forces.

Welcoming the delegation on behalf of the Director-General, the Acting Director for Communication, International Cooperation and Strategic Partnerships, Mr. Benjamin Avornyotse, reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to collaboration with local and international partners. He highlighted the strong partnership between the CSA and the Ghana Armed Forces, particularly through joint initiatives such as the annual National Cybersecurity Awareness Month campaign.

Leader of the Zimbabwean delegation, Brigadier General Christopher Sibanda noted that the visit formed part of a year-long senior command and staff course designed to expose participants to Ghana’s approaches to cybersecurity, economic security, climate security, and other emerging threats. He added that Ghana was selected alongside Angola, Rwanda, and Kenya for the study tour.

The delegation received a presentation from Mr. Benjamin Ofori, Head of Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) Protection, who provided an overview of the Authority’s mandate, focusing on Authority role in the protection of Ghana’s Critical Information Infrastructure.

Mr. Ofori also highlighted Ghana’s pioneering efforts in licensing cybersecurity service providers and accrediting cybersecurity professionals and establishments, a model that continues to position the country among Africa’s leaders in cybersecurity governance.

The visit provided the delegation valuable insights on the importance of safeguarding critical sectors against cyber threats, while showcasing Ghana’s commitment to advancing cybersecurity and broader national security cooperation.
