CSA JOINS OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR OF COMPANIES TO CELEBRATE CYBERSECURITY EDUCATION WEEK
The Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) has organised a cybersecurity education week as part of its efforts to ensure cyber safety and resilience in its company’s operations.
As part of the events marking the celebration, the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) was invited to conduct a cybersecurity awareness session on May 27, 2025, at the Civil and Local Government Staff Association (CLOGSAG) Auditorium in Accra.
The Acting Registrar of Companies, Mrs. Maame Samma Peprah, in a welcoming remark, stated that the borderless nature of cyber threats informed the ORC’s decision to take proactive efforts to safeguard its digital ecosystem through awareness creation for staff.
In a presentation, an officer of the CSA, Mr. Isaac Socrates Mensah, educated the staff of ORC on the rising sophistication of cyber threats such as malware, phishing, and social engineering that target institutions like the ORC.
Mr. Mensah emphasised practical measures such as strong password practices, multi-factor authentication, and cautious handling of suspicious links and attachments to protect devices from cyberattacks. He also shared the CSA’s 24/7 Cybercrime/Cybersecurity Incident Reporting Points of Contact for reporting cyber incidents, and seeking advisories, urging participants to foster a culture of vigilance.
There was an interactive session where participants raised concerns about the surge in mobile money fraud. Mr. Mensah, in response, outlined CSA’s collaborations with mobile network operators, financial institutions, and law enforcement agencies to address these threats. He urged the staff to be vigilant and do due diligence in their online transactions. He also encouraged them to follow the Authority’s social media handles for monthly cybersecurity alerts to stay informed and protected.
