CSA AND EOCO HOLD SENSITISATION WORKSHOP FOR SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS IN THE NORTHERN REGION OF GHANA

The Cyber Security Authority and the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) have held a five-day sensitisation workshop for Twenty-three thousand, one hundred and thirty-six (23,136) students drawn from about thirteen Senior High and Technical Schools in the Northern region of Ghana.

The awareness creation exercise focused on areas such as the benefits and hazards associated with the use of the internet, copyright infringements, sanctions associated with cybercrimes, social media addictions and best cyber practices. Students were advised to limit online activities and to focus on their studies.

The workshop was organized with support from the National Crime Agency of the United Kingdom (UK) through the British High Commission in Ghana.

Beneficiary schools included Vitting Senior High School, Anbariya Senior High School, Tamale Girls’ Senior High School, Ghana Senior High School, Presbyterian Senior High School, Dabokpa Senior High School, Tamale Senior High School, Northern School of Business, Islamic Senior High School, Kalpohine Senior High School, Business Senior High School, Tamale Senior High/ Technical School, and St. Charles’s Boys’ Senior High School.

The workshop was organised from March 20th to 24th, 2023.
